Your Consultant

Julia Adlem is Meka Consulting’s founder and director and Meka Legal’s Principal Lawyer and director. She has a background in business management, publishing, sales and marketing. She is also a highly experienced lawyer, having practised law in Adelaide for over 19 years. Julia is currently Company Secretary for Police Health Ltd and HAMB Systems Ltd.

Julia came to law later in life, having successfully run a group of newspapers in London as General Manager for many years, where she was responsible and accountable for the profitability and strategic direction of the group.  She read law at Anglia Ruskin University in the UK in 2004, where she gained a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours, moving to Australia with her husband and two daughters shortly thereafter.

Julia’s areas of expertise in private legal practice prior to launching Meka Consulting were extensive and included high-level corporate employment law and human resource advice and training, business, transactional and personal law, complex family and property law and Wills and estate planning, as well as litigation work across a range of legal disciplines and jurisdictions.

She operated routinely in matters before the Fair Work Commission, Federal Court of Australia, Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, Supreme Court of South Australia, District Court of South Australia and the Magistrates Court of South Australia.

When she made the decision to launch Meka Consulting, Julia decided to return to her business roots and focus on corporate governance and strategic guidance for clients, to include business development, risk management and compliance, and cohesive and collaborative leadership through sound people and culture strategies.

She maintains a discrete client base, to ensure she can offer the focused and personalised service that she believes every client deserves.
